What is an Jet Ski Bill of Sale?

A jet ski bill of sale is proof that a buyer has purchased a jet ski from the owner. It is known alternatively as a personal watercraft (PWC) bill of sale or a watercraft bill of sale. It is an important document that records the terms of the transaction and may be a requirement in your state when transferring the title at the DMV.

A jet ski bill of sale contains all the information about the item. It should have the jet ski make and model, Hull Identification Number (HIN), year of manufacture, and the hour meter reading that shows how long the engine has been operational.

Due to the sensitive nature of transferring ownership of valuable items, either party’s information must be accurate. Mistakes can be costly down the line. Also, document the date of sale, the price, the payment method, proof of the seller’s ownership, warranties, and, depending on your jurisdiction, witness signatures.
